What To Expect?

Money

In Cambodia, both cash and ATMs are widely used. Cash is preferred for smaller purchases and in rural areas, while ATMs are available in major cities and tourist spots. USD is commonly accepted next to the local currency, Cambodian riel.

Plugs

In Cambodia, the standard electrical voltage is 230 volts with a frequency of 50 Hertz. It's a good idea to bring along a universal travel adapter to ensure you can charge your phone. These adapters support multiple plug types and can be used in countries around the world.

Safety

Cambodia is generally safe for travelers, but petty crimes like theft can always happen, particularly in tourist areas. Stay alert, avoid scams, and take precautions with your belongings. With common sense and awareness, you will have a great time in Cambodia.

If you want to visit the tropical paradise islands of Cambodia you can easily hop on a boat. There are different islands you can visit that are only reachable by boat. Book in advance of just show up at the marina to secure your spot.

Scooter

I love driving myself whenever it's possible. It gives me a feeling of freedom. I have felt safe and secure driving a scooter in Cambodia. Make sure you decide on a price beforehand and always take pictures of your scooter before driving off.   o

What To Do?

Killing Fields

The Killing Fields in Cambodia, located near Phnom Penh, serve as a stark reminder of the atrocities committed during the Khmer Rouge regime in the late 1970s. This site, officially known as Choeung Ek Genocidal Center, was one of many locations where the Khmer Rouge executed and buried victims during their brutal rule. Today, visitors can explore the grounds, which include mass graves, a memorial stupa housing the remains of victims, and exhibits detailing the history of the Khmer Rouge regime and its devastating impact on Cambodia.  A visit to the Killing Fields is a deeply moving experience about the horrors of genocide and the resilience of the Cambodian people.

Rooftop Bar

Phom Phen has so many high buildings so it's a great idea to watch the skyline from above. Grab a cocktail at one of the many rooftop bars and watch the sun go down after a long day of exploring.
