A BROKE GIRLS GUIDE TO
THE GAMBIA & SENEGAL
As Salaam Alaikum and welcome to The Gambia & Senegal!
The Gambia was the first country I visited in Africa, and I fell in love with it. The Smiling Coast Of Africa didn't get its name for nothing. People are so friendly and helpful! I do have to admit that I experienced my first culture shock in The Gambia. There is always a lot going on and people stare at you a lot. But after a little while, I finally adjusted and now I cannot wait to go back again. This blog post will be a combination of a backpacking trip through The Gambia and a quick cross over the border to the neighboring country of Senegal for a safari tour. This guide will include a packing list, itinerary´s, activities advice, transport advice, budget hostel advice and a budget breakdown.
Let’s explore The Gambia & Senegal with Broke Girls World!

Safety
A trip to The Gambia is also revered to as ‘Africa Light’ because you can experience the real africa here without the dangers that happen in the surrounding countries. I have felt save every second during my trip here. Walking around alone, as a woman, I never felt unsafe, even after dark! But it’s always a good idea to take extra precautions and keep your eye on your belongings.

Serekunda
Serekunda was my base during my trip to Gambia. It is a pretty small country so I picked a hotel here and did daytrips from there. Srekunda is the heart of torusim in Gambia. There are multiple hotels, restaurants taxispots and tourist burauas. Its a nice neighborhood stay and a chill place to come home to after a long day of exploring.

ABOUT ME
Hi guys, my name is Noah. I'm a 21-year-old Dutchie eager to explore what the world has to offer. I have been finding ways to travel and live a comfortable life on a budget for a few years now and thought it was about time I'd share my experiences, tips, and advice with the world! Traveling can be super expensive (as a student I definitely know). Nevertheless, it is completely possible to see our beautiful earth without having to break the bank. On this blog, I like to take you with me on my task to see as much as I possibly can on a shoestring budget. With my camera in one hand and notebook in the other I want to share the good, the bad, and the ugly and hopefully inspire you for your next trip. From wandering through a newfound town to a city trip nearby. This is a true traveler experience told by a regular girl. I hope to see you around!
